WoW Classic – What Professions to Use for Bags

Making your own bags can be very beneficial, in more ways than one when playing WoW Classic.

Have you ever been walking along in your latest adventure, only to be stopped in your tracks by the dreaded ‘Inventory Full’ warning coming up on your screen? You may have come across a number of items that you do want to pick up, but your inventory is full of loot that you may not necessarily need or want. If this is something that has ever come up, then you’re going to want to get your hands on WoW Classic bags.

About WoW Classic Bags

In WoW Classic, a bag is a container item that you can use to hold additional items that you find. You start the game with a 16-slot backpack that you can’t remove, so to add to this you will need to find bags of your own.

There are a number of ways that you can get bags in WoW Classic. As well as professions which we will touch on later, you can also use your WoW Classic gold to purchase them from certain vendors, as well as finding them as random drops and questing.

Bags are not bound to characters, and you can exchange them between other characters. You can also sell them at the Auction House, which can come in particularly handy when it comes to making them yourself. Those that aren’t equipped can be stored in your inventory in case you need them, though they will need to be empty if there is a bag inside another bag.

Ultimately, it comes down to just how important inventory space is in WoW Classic. Having more space will give you the opportunity to not only be able to carry more items, but you will also be able to manage your inventory better. This is even more important if you are playing in certain World of Warcraft classes, such as Warlocks and Hunters. The reason is that you will be using ammunition and soul shards, and special bags are available to cater for them.

What Professions to Use

So now that you have an idea of what WoW Classic bags are all about, you may find it useful to know how you can make your own. If that is the case, then there are a couple of professions that you can use.

Your primary focus, if you want to start making your own bags, should be on Tailoring. That being said, you can also make bags with Leatherworking, though you will only have the option to make one kind of bag here. With Leatherworking, you need to firstly, get your skill up to level 40. Once you have managed to do so, you can then get a few Kodo Leather, Four Light Leather, and Coarse Thread so that you can make a Kodo Hide Bag for yourself. This has six slots in it and is the only bag that you can make using this profession.

Tailoring on the other hand is able to offer you a few more options for which kinds of bags you can make. You will be using materials to make bags that will also be helping to build your skill points at the same time. What’s more, by making your own bags you will then be able to sell them at the Auction House to help turn a profit and make some decent WoW Classic gold.

Having the necessary materials as a Tailor will allow you to make bags with six slots, going up in twos until you reach 18 slots. You will start off simple with the Linen Bag, though you will not be able to craft it until you hit level 45. After that, simply get yourself three bolts of Linen Cloth and some Coarse Thread from a vendor and you will be well on your way.

Just as a quick side note, if you are looking into increasing your storage but you don’t have the option of making your own banks, there are always the banks to fall back on. You will find these in the capital cities in the game, and you can use them to put up to 24 items in if required. This can be a great way for you to store items if you don’t have the resources to make your own WoW Classic bags. You can use a total of six bag slots in banks to give yourself more space.

Now you should have a better outlook on why bags are so important to WoW Classic, and how you can get started with making your own. You will find vendors that you can spend your WoW Classic gold with if necessary, to get a bag, and there will also be opportunities through questing as well. Crafting does have its monetary advantages however and is a great motivator to get your skill levels up too.
